Study on Consumption Structue of Jilin Province Urban Residents Based on ELES Model

It is important to raise the level of consumption and economic growth by improving living standard,and furthermore the breakthrough of structure of dual economic structure can guarantee the steady and fast economic growth.In this paper,it aims to make comparative analysis on various levels of consumption in urban and rural from four aspects through building of Extended Linear Expenditure System(ELES)model from2005 to 2012,such as consumption structure,marginal propensity to consume,income elasticity of demand and price elasticity,and to find out the differences.It shows that the developing type consumption rises year by year including rural residents' health care consumption and urban traffic communication and lead to some degree.So it is high time took measures to improve rural and urban residents' consumption status through increasing residents' disposables income and perfecting the social security system and also have important significance for sustainable and stable economy development in Jilin province.
