Comparative Study of National Central City Science and Technology Competitiveness and Strategies for Guangzhou

Abstract

Through building the science and technology competitiveness evaluation system and selecting the data from 2005 to 2009 of Beijing,Tianjin,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Chongqing,this paper makes an empirical analysis of the five national central cities by software SPSS17.0 based on factor analysis method.The results show that the order of the science and technology competitiveness of the five central cities is Beijing,Shanghai,Guangzhou,Tianjin,and Chongqing.Lastly,some strategies for improving Guangzhou’s science and technology competitiveness have been put forward.
