The expression of P16 protein in endometrial epithelial lesions and their significance

Abstract
Objective:To study the role of p16 in the genesis and development of endometrial carcinoma.Methods:The expression of p16 was examined by immunohistochemistry in specimens of 30 proliferative phase of endometrium,28 simple hyperplasia,14 complex hyperplasia,10 atypical hyperplasia and 50 endometrial carcinoma.Results:The positive expression of p16 was associated with histologic grade and lymph node metastasis.The positive expression rate of p16 in proliferative phase of endometrium was significantly higher than that in endometrial carcinoma (P0.05).Conclusion:The expression of p16 may play an important role in the genesis,development and prognosis of endometrial carcinoma.
