Abstract
Objective To establish an experimental animal model of limb ischemia.Methods Forty rabbits were divided into two groups,group A and group B.Group AIschemia was induced by ligation of the distal iliac artery and excision of the common and superficial femoral in the left hindlimb of 20 rabbits.Group BIschemia was induced by ligation of the distal common femoral artery and excision of the superficial femoral in the left hindlimb of 20 rabbits.The severityof the Ischemia in each animal was evaluated regularly until postoperative 80days.Results Group AAngiography demonstrated minimal collaterals number ratio in the thigh was increased from 0.7±0.31 to 2.0±0.02 postoperatively.Group BAngiography demonstrated minimal collaterals number ratio in the thigh was increased from 0.82±0.29 to 1.71±0.13.postoperatively.Conclusion Persistent hindlimb Ischemia model in the rabbit was made successfully in group A.
