Observations on the Efficacy of Warming-unblocking Acupuncture and Medicine Therapy for Cervical Spondylotic Vertebral Arteriopathy

Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture plus medicinal wine and gentle moxibustion in treating cervical spondylotic vertebral arteriopathy.Methods Observed 101 patients were randomly allocated to a treatment group of 68 cases and a control group of 33 cases.The treatment group received acupuncture at Baihui(GV 20),Sishencong(Ex-HN 1),Fengfu(GV 16),Hegu(LI 4) and Jingbailao(Ex-HN 15) plus cervical application of medicinal wine and gentle moxibustion with moxa stick,and the control group,cervical application of medicinal wine plus TDP lamp irradiation.Results The total efficacy rate was 94.1% in the treatment group and 66.7% in the control group.Conclusion Warming-unblocking acupuncture and medicine therapy has a satisfactory effect on cervical vertigo.
