Abstract

Objective To observe the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture plus heat-sensitive moxibustion in treating cervical spondylosis of nerve-root type.Method A total of 120 patients with cervical spondylosis of nerve-root type were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,60 in each.Acupuncture and heat-sensitive moxibustion were adopted in the treatment group, while acupuncture alone was adopted in the control group.Therapeutic efficacy was observed after 3 treatment courses.Result The total effective rate and recovery rate in the treatment group were markedly higher than those in the control group(P0.01).Conclusion Acupuncture plus heat-sensitive moxibustion has better therapeutic efficacy than single acupuncture treatment in managing cervical spondylosis of nerve-root type.
