Abstract
Objective To establish a kind of cultural method of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons for patch clamp study. Methods DRG neurons of adult rat were isolated and cultured. The electrophysiological properties and ATP-induced currents of cultured DRG neurons were investigated by using patchclamp techniques. Results The cultured cells were morphologically intact, from which evoked action potential and Na+ channel currents, and ATP-induced currents could be detected. Conclusions Cultured DRG neurons of adult rat are ideal for patch-clamp studies.
