Abstract

Objective: To investigate the expression levels of LRP mRNA in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) as well as their clinical significance. Methods: RT-PCR semi-quantitative method was used to detecte the expression levels of LRP mRNA in tissues samples and corresponding adjacent normal lung tissues of 60 patients with NSCLC.T-Test,One-Way ANOVA,Kaplan-Meier survival curve and log-rank test analysis were used for statistical analysis. Results: The expression level of LRP mRNA was significantly higher in NSCLC tissues than that in adjacent normal lung tissues(P=0.000).LRP mRNA expression level was significantly higher in lung adenocarcinomas than in squamous carcinoma(P=0.02),and was higher in cancer tissue of well-differentiated than in that of poorly differentiated(P=0.033).There was no difference in LRP mRNA expression level between other clinicopathologic parameters and survival time. Conclusion: LRP may play a major role in the intrinsic multidrug resistance of NSCLC in some extent. It was significant for detection of the expression level of LRP in NSCLC patients that in the prediction of the intrinsic multidrug resistance and in the guidance to rational chemical therapy.
