Abstract
Objective:To study the relationship between the fasting serum c-peptide level and the diabetic nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Method:544 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus of our hospital were selected, recorded the course of the disease, analyzed the C peptide(FCP)of the fasting serum,C peptide of postpranddial(PCP),fasting blood glucose(FBG),postpranddial blood sugar(PBG),glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),triglyceride(TG),cholesterol(TC),serum pathway of inhibitory element C(CysC),24 hours urinary micro albumin(24 ALB), measuring height, weight, waist, hip circumference and calculated the body mass index(BMI). According to the level of CysC,we divided the 544 cases into two groups:the diabetic group(DM)and with diabetic nephropathy group(DN).Result:The C-peptide level of DN group was significantly lower than the DM group, which was significantly different( P0.05).Fasting serum C-peptide level was negatively correlatation with CysC( r=-0.153, P 0.01).Conclusion:The decline of fasting serum C-peptide level may be involved in the occurrence and development of the diabetic nephropathy.
