Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between between lower extremities arterial disease(LEAD) in type 2 diabetes mellitus and serum cystatin C (CysC).Methods 103 cases of T2DM were divided into 2 groups with LEAD and without LEAD. Their body height, weight, waist, hip were recorded ;the levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG),serum total cholesterol (TC),serum high density lipoprotein (HDL-C),serum low density lipoprotein (LDL-C),serum triglyceride(TG),serum creatinine(Scr),serum cystatin C(CysC) and fasting serum insulin(FINS) were determined, body mass index(BMI),the waist to hip ratio(WHR)and insulin resistance index (HOMA-IR)were calculated. Results. Results The levels of BMI,WHR,FINS,HOMA-IR,LDL-C and CysC increased significantly in LEAD group compared with non- LEAD group (P0.05),the levels of FBG,TC,HDL-C and TG had no statistical significance between two groups (P0.05).Conclusion LEAD in T2DM patients had remarkable dyslipidemia, insulin resistance and higher CysC.
