Abstract
The present paper deals with 13 species of Aradus F. collected from various partsof China. Among them 7 species are recorded for the first time from China and 2 aredescribed as new to science. A brief account is given to each species and a synoptickey for separating them all. The new species are described as follows. Aradus omeiensis, sp. nov. (Fig. 3) . Length 7.5 mm, width of pronotum 2.6 mm, width of abdomen 3.35 mm.Testaceus, two spots on anterior lobe of pronotum, base and apex medianly of scutellum,inner basal angle of clavus, margins of meso- and metapleura blackish. Cells on corium,exterior margin of clavus, base and subapical band of femora, base and apex of tibiae,inner margin of lateral lobes of 8th abdominal segment all pale. Head length 1.2 mm, width 1.35 mm, width of vertex 0.95 mm; preocular and post-ocular tubercles obsolete. Length of antennal segments 0.3: 1.0: 0.7: 0.5 mm, 2nd and3rd segments densely clothed with tubercular hairs. Rostrum reaching middle of anteriorcoxae. Pronotum over twice as wide as long, narrower than base of hemelytra, lateralmargin slightly sinuate and anteriorly tuberculate, lateral angles rounded. Scutellum withapical angle acute. Hemelytra reaching posterior margin of 7th tergite, base of coriumexpanded, membrane irregularly pale spotted. Legs rather slender. Posterior angles ofconnexival segments progressively protruding, exterior margin of lateral lobe of 8th seg-ment smooth. Holotype , Szechuan (Nankai Uni. coll.). Allied to A. transiens Kirits., but rostrum longer, pronotum without pale markings,anterior pronotal angles less prominent, posterior angles of connexival segments moreproduced, 2nd and 3rd antennal segments with dense tubercular hairs. Aradus discompar, sp. nov. (Fig. 4) Very similar to A. compar Kirits. in general appearance and colour pattern, butmuch darker, proportion of length of antennal segments different, 1st segment passingapex of head, carinae on pronotum less distinct. Black, 1st and 2nd antennal segments and legs lighter in colour; lateral margins ofpronotum anteriorly, lateral margins of scutellum medianly, basal portion of corium, pos-terior margins of connexival segments, 3rd antennal segment excepting base, margins ofacetabula, two annulations on each femur and two on each tibia pale. . Length 7.9 mm, width of pronotum 3.35 mm, width at base of hemelytra3.05 mm, width of abdomen 3.85 mm. Length of antennal segments 0.45: 1.0: 0.65:0.7 mm, 1st segment passing apex of head. Rostrum passing anterior coxae, length ofsegments 0.75: 0.5: 0.4 mm. Holotype , and allotype , Szechuan (Nankai Uni. coll.).
