Abstract
The present paper deals with five genera and 19 species of Chinese Coreidae belonging to the subfamily Coreinae. Two genera and 17 species are described as new to science and two species are recorded for the first time from China. Two new tribes, Mecocnemini and Manocoreini, are proposed. The new genera and new species are here diagnosed.Mecocnemis, n. g.. Elongate with posterior end broadened. Head distinctly produced before antennifer-ous tubercles and declivent anteriorly, tylus longer than juga. Antennae situated behind middle of anteocular portion of head, slender, shorter than body, 1st and 4th segments subequal in length, 3rd shortest, dilated on both sides. Rostrum long, reaching posterior coxae. Pronotum trapezoid, posterior margin sinuate before scutellum. Corium with apical angle pointed, apical -margin shorter than claval suture. Legs very long; femora unarmed, slightly thickened apically, posterior pair surpassing apex of abdomen. Sternal plica of female very slightly angulate.Genotype: Mecocnemis scutellaris, n. sp.Allied to Dasynus Burmeister, but legs much longer, corium with apical angle and apical margin shorter, It represents a new tribe, Mecocnemini, which should be placed between Dasynini and Gonocerini. Mecocnemis scuteUaris, n. sp. (fig. 1)Length 17.7mm, width 4.8mm. Reddish ochraceous, legs more reddish. Antennae, a longitudinal streak on vertex, lateral margins of pronotum, scutellum (excepting apex), basal half of costal margin of corium, membrane, wings, apex of rostrum and eight transverse lines on each side of body beneath black. Length of antennal segments 4.5:3.3:2.8: 4.4mm.Type , Yunnan.Manocoreus, n. g.Elongate, head produced anteriorly, tylus narrow, longer than juga, genae dentate before antenniferous tubercles, eyes removed from anterior margin of pronotum; femora unarmed; meso- and metasternum longitudinally sulcate, abdominal spiracles situated close to lateral margin and before. middle of segments, 7th abdominal sternum of female longitudinally clefted, plica absent or formed .as a triangular sclerite, posterior margin of male genital segment broadly sinuate and tuberculately produced in middle.Genotype: Manocoreus. vidgaris, n. sp. This genus differs from all other genera by the different structure of head ahd 7th abdominal sternum of female and constitutes a new tribe, Manocoreini between Mecocne-mini, n. and Gonocerini.Key to species1(4) Connexivum blackly spotted:2(3) 1st antennal segment shorter than 2nd, distinctly granulated on its anterior side, 3rd dilatedapically; lateral angles of pronotum acute. Length 11.1-12.5mm. Type , Szechuan M. montanus, n. sp. (figs. 3, 11)3(2) 1st antennal segment not shortet than 2nd, 3rd normal; lateral angles of pronotum rectangular.Length 12.5-14.0mm. Type , Fukien M. vulgaris, n. sp. (fig. 2)4(1) Connexivum unicolorous;5 (6) Lateral margins of pronotum and subcostal margin of corium not black; plica of 7th abdominal-segment of female triangular. Length 12.1-14.2 mm. Type. YunnanM. yunnanensis, n. sp. (fig. 12)6(5) Lateral margins of pronotum and subcostal margin of corium black; 7th abdominal segmentgf female without plica. Length 13.5-15.5mm. Type, Yunnan.. M. marginalia, n. sp. (fig. 13)Gonoceras longicornis, n. ap. (fig. 4)Length 13.4mm, width 3.8mm. The structure of head and pronotum very similar to that in G. juniperi Her.-Sch., but antennae longer, 1st segment much longer than head, length of segments 3.0:4.4:2.5:2.0mm; the basal three segments unicolorously red. Hem-elytra red, with costal margin broadly yellowish.Type , Nanking.Gonoceras yunnanetuls, n. ap. (fig. 5)Length 12.8mm, width 3.6mm, sordidly yellow. Tylus compressed, produced before juga. Allied to G. lictor Horvath, but punctures on body beneath black, 1st antennal segment subequal to 4th in length and 3rd segment cylindrical. Type , Yunnan.Plinachtus dissimilis, n. ap. (fig. 6)Very similar to P. bicoloripes Scott in body size and coloration, but lateral angles of pronotum spinose. Length 14.3 mm, width between lateral angles of pronotum 5.5mm.Type ,Hangchou.Hygia UhlerAmo
