Abstract

The present paper gives the descriptions of two new genera and 14 new species of Ectrichodinae collected from China. Synoptic key is given for all the Chinese genera among which Parascadra Miller and Bayerus Distant are recorded for the first time from this country. Keys are also given to the Chinese species of Haematoloecha Stal, Scadra Stal and Ectrychotes Burm.Bayerus pilosus, sp. nov. (Fig. 1)Red, clothed with dense yellowish hairs. Antennae excepting basal two segments, clavus, inner cell of cerium and membrane of hemelytra fuscus.Length 9.5 mm, width 1.3 mm, width of vertex 0.65 mm. Pronotum length 1.9 mm, width 2.55 mm, anterior lobe deeply longitudinally sulcate, very conspicuously sculptured. Hemelytra not reaching apex of abdomen. Lateral margin of abdomen broadly rounded, posterior angles of second segment shortly spinous.Holotype 9 , Yunnan.Differing from B. cuneatus Dist. by shorter 1st antennal segment and unicolorous tibiae.Bannania, gen. nov.Small, sparsely pubescent. Head large, rounded, slightly produced anteriorly, vertex convex, obsoletely sulcate, neck abruptly narrowed. Eyes small, ocelli removed from eyes. Antennae inserted far from anterior margin of eyes, six segmented, 1st segment shorter than head, 2nd teh longest, Eestrum with 2nd segment enlarged medianly, longer than 1st. Pronotum wider than long, with deep transverse and shallow longitudinal sulci; anterior lobe convex and smooth; posterior lobe laterally sulcate, lateral angles rounded, posterior margin nearly straight. Scutellum impressed medianly, apex broad with two lateral prongs. Hemelytra membranous excepting apex of corium and veins. Tibiae slightly subapically enlarged, fossula spongiosa very small. Abdomen moderately expanded, posterior angles of basal segments spinously prominent.Type species: Bannania pulchclla, sp. nov.Allied to Antiopuln Bergroth, but 1st rostral segment shorter than 2nd, basal abdo-menal segment with posterior angles spinously prominent.Bannania pulchella, sp. nov. (Fig. 2)Red, with yellowish erect hairs. Antennae excepting 1st segment, hemelytra excepting base and apex of corium, and 5th and 6th sternites laterally black. Fifth antennal segment, rostrum, middle of abdomen beneath and base of tarsi pale yellowish. Length 6.8 mm, width of abdomen 2.25 mm. Head length 0.95 mm, width 0.9 mm, width of vertex 0.55 mm. Pronotum length 1.2 mm, width 1.7 mm, anterior lobe much shorter than posterior lobe (0.45:0.75 mm.).Holotype , Yunnan.Parascadra rubida, sp. nov. (Fig. 3)Red, glabrous. Antennae (except 1st segment) and hemelytra black. Abdomen beneath with a row of black round spots on each side, basal half of 3rd antennal segment with a broad pale ring. Clavus and its adjacent area sordid yellow.Length 17 mm, width of abdomen 4.0 mm. Head length 2.3 mm, width 1.65 mm, width of vertex 0.8 mm. Pronotum length 3.0 mm, width 4.15 mm, anterior lobe shorter than posterior lobe (2:3).Holotype , Hainan Is.Allied to P. polita Miller, but color different and 2nd antennal segment longer.Haematoloecha aberrens, sp. nov. (Fig. 4)This new species has the median longitudinal impression of the anterior pronotal lobe not continuous with that of posterior lobe, but separated by a transverse ridge as in Scadra Stal. However the smooth convex halves of the lobe and the position of the ocelli undoubtedly place it in Haematoloecha. It is closely allied to H. nigrorufa Stal, but body smaller, head longer, 1st rostral segment shorter and hemelytra black with only costal area red., Length 11.1 mm, width of pronotum 3.5 mm, width of abdomen 4.4 mm., Larger, length 11.6 mm, width of abdomen 5.0 mm.Holotype and allotype , Peking.Haemotoloecha minor, sp. nov. (Fig. 5)Sordid yellowish red. Side of head behind eye, neck, antennae, 1st rostral segment, impressions to pronotum, scutellum, pectus, inner 2/3 of corium, membrane, legs and lateral longitudinal bands of abdomen beneath all fuscus.Length 8.6 mm, width of pronotum 2.7 mm, width of abdomen 3.45 mm.Holotype , Shanghai.Allied to H. delibuta Distant, but smaller, head, anterior lobe of pron
