Status of Training on Community Health Professionals in Hedong District,Tianjin and Their Demand

Objective To thoroughly know the present training situation of community health professionals in Hedong District,Tianjin and their demand so as to provide references for the formulation of future training policy.Methods The questionnaire survey was conducted among the recruited community health professionals from Hedong District,Tianjin as the subjects,including training contents,forms,schedule,and requirements.The information data collected were analyzed by using SPSS 13.0.Results Totally 288 community health professionals took part in the survey and 73.26% of them were generally satisfied with their training.some 76.47% of the general practitioners,72.73% of the nursing staff,and 64.29% of the staff from the departments of medicine,examination and X-ray were satisfied.There is a trend that dissatisfaction of the training increases with the increase of title of their technical post among the general practitioners,and the dissatisfaction statistics from professionals with junior,middle,and senior titles were 22.08%,24.49%,and 30.00% respectively.Among the professionals with junior title,doctors and nurses were relatively more satisfied than those from the departments of medicine,examination and X-ray.Conclusion Community doctors and nurses are generally satisfied with the contents,forms and schedules;while professionals from the departments of medicine,examination and X-ray are less satisfied.Professionals with different levels of titles or from different departments have different opinions toward training.So the stratified training should be conducted,with special attention to the community nurses and medical technicians;and the training process and the evaluation and assessment of the effect should be emphasized.
