Abstract

Hepatic fibrosis is a wound-healing process that occurs when the liver is injured chronically and is characterized by the excess production and deposition of extracellular matrix(ECM) components. The activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSC),a key issue in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis,is mediated by various cytokines and intracellular signal transduction pathway. The article will draw a review on the role of growth factor family in hepatic fibrosis in recent years and provide a new site of action to the treatment of hepatic fibrosis.
