Epidemiological Analysis of Public Health Emergencies in Wuming County of Guangxi Province during 2005-2010

[Objective]To understand the information and epidemiological characteristics about public health emergencies in Wuming County,and improve the response capacity of public health emergencies. [Methods]Descriptive epidemiological method was adopted to analyze the reported public health emergencies in Wuming County during 2005 to 2010. [Results]A total of 28 incidents of public health emergency were reported,with 1 511 cases and 2 deaths,mainly belonged to infectious diseases and food poisoning,which accounted for 64.29% and 17.86%.Most incidents occurred in the rural area,Mainly concentrated in March-June;17 the majority of student-oriented events occurred in schools. [Conclusion]According to epidemiological characteristics about public health emergencies in Wuming County,it is necessary to strengthen the health supervision and health education in schools,kindergartens,rural areas,construction sites to prevent and control infectious diseases and food poisoning.
