Investigation of HBV Carrying Status among Food and Public Places Employees

Abstract

[Objective]To understand the HBV infection among food and public places employees.[Methods] Detection of HBsAg and HBeAg were conducted on 19 306 food and public places employees who had applied health certificates in Longyan Center for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) from 2005 — 2007.[Results]Of 19 306 cases,1420(7.36%) were detected HBsAg positive.Among which 893(4.63%)were HBsAg(+),HBeAg(-);527(2.73%) were HBsAg(+),HBeAg(+).HBsAg and HBeAg positive rate of males was high than female,with a downward trend with age,the peak appeared in 16 ~ 25 years age group.[Conclusion] HBsAg positive rate was lower among food and public places employees in Longyan City;the major carriers were employees under age 25,it is suggested to continuously implement the health certificates system and strictly conduct the 1st physical examination on employees before employment to protect the safety of clients
