Abstract

OBJECTIVETo study the value of imprint cytology for the diagnosis in intraoperative tumors.?METHODS?124 cases of tumor specimens were examined by imprint cytology that was compared with frozen and paraffin section.?RESULTS?In contrast to the diagnosis with paraffin section, accurate rate of diagnosis with imprint cytology and frozen section was 96 0% and 98 4%, respectively.?CONCLUSION? The accurate rate of diagnosis with imprint cytology is similar to the frozen section but is simple, rapid, and reliable method for tumor diagnosis during operation.
