On the Basic Tradition of Peking University

this paper compared several express of the tradition of Peking University. From the angels of the relationship between the tradition of Peking university and May 4th movement spirit, the amalgamation of Chinese and western culture and education thoughts, the flourishing and the declining of the academics at Peking university, and the requirements of the modernization, this paper clarified that the basic tradition of Peking university should be all-inclusive and thinking freely, and put forwards how to promote and develop the basic tradition.
