English Translation of the Colloquialism and Literary Style in the Militant Language in Mao Zedong's Poems

Colloquialism is one of the most distinguishing features of the militant language in Mao Zedong's poems.Furthermore,the adoption of the classical Chinese literary styles of poetry enhances the expressive force and appeal of the language born in the special wartime and cultural background in China.This article presents a comparative study of the two features perfectly fused in the source poems and their renditions on the basis of the stylistic theory of translation.Meantime,it discusses the discrepancies arising from the different renditions,which can better help unfold the charm of the militant language in Mao's poems.
