Nursing of Acute Organic Phosphorus Poisoning Patients by Continuous Venovenous Hemofiltration

Abstract

Objective To investigate the experience of ICU nursing in treating acute organic phosphorus poisoning by continuous venovenous hemofiltration(CVVH).Methods From January 2008 to December 2010,10 acute organic phosphorus poisoning patients in ICU of Affiliated Shuguang Hospital of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were treated by CVVH.Results After the treatment,the poisoning extent was significantly reduced in 7 patients and the urine output was increased in 2 patients.Nine patients were discharged after medical improvements except one case of clinical death.Conclusion Perfect psychological nursing,rigorous observation of the condition and smooth and timely management of complications ensure a successful CVVH treatment.
