Abstract

City of Mei was,for a long time, the capital of Anhua County(from the former part of the Song Dynasty 1072 to 1952).It was once an undeveloped land which was situated in the western mountainous area of Ancient Yiyang County during the former part of the Han Dynasty(from BC206 to AD25).But around BC.200,a man named Meijuan who belonged to a Yue People(people from the south-western part of China such as Guangdong,Guangxi,Yunnan and part of Tibet were called Yue),led his army to settle down in the new surroundings, and Mountain Mei was thus born, which was named after Meijuan’s surname Mei.Since then MoYao-a descendant of Yue People and the aboriginal men there developed Mountain Mei,where they centralized policy, economy, culture and military affairs, thus created the culture of Mountain Mei and named the area Meicheng. Therefore,Meicheng is the cradle of Mountain Mei culture.
