Abstract
OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of losartan on vascular endothelial function and inflammation factors in patients with essential hypertension.METHODS:50 patients with mild to moderate essential hypertension had been treated with losartan 50 mg once a day. Those patients, the decrease of blood pressure of whom was not ideal were given losartan 100 mg once a day or twice orally for 16 weeks. The changes of blood pressure were observed, and plasma ET-l,NO,hs-CRP and IL-6 levels were measured before and after treatment.30 healthy adults served as control group.RESULTS:Plasma ET-1,hs-CRP and IL-6 levels were obviously increased and plasma NO level was obviously decreased in treatment group(P0.01).Systolic pressure and diastolic pressure of treatment group turned to normal after losartan treatment of 16 weeks.Plasma ET-1,hs-CRP,and IL-6 levels was significantly decreased and Plasma NO level was significantly increased when treated with losartan for 16 weeks(P0.01 or P0.05).But plasma NO level was significantly lower?than that of the control group, and plasma ET-1,hs-CRP,and IL-6 levels were opposite(all P0.05).??CONCLUSIONS:Losartan may improve the vascular endothelial function and inhibit inflammation marker of patients with essential hypertension. But it cannot converse the changes?of the function of vascular endothelium and the rising of the plasma inflammatory factors caused by the hypertension.
