A Clinical Study of Ulinastatin on the Treatment of Severe Multiple Injuries

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of ulinastatin on treating multiple injuries.Methods 160 patients with severe multiple injuries were randomly divided into two groups.In the treatment group (n=80),on the base of routine treatment,ulinastatin was administered intravenously for seven days from hospitalization,while in the control group only routine treatment was given (n=80).Inflammatory factors in serum,the change of liver function and renal function were measured between the two groups before and after the treatment,the clinical effects were observed too.Results There was significant difference in the serum level of TNF-α,IL-1,IL-6,ALT,AST,BUN and Cr on the 7th day between the two groups(P0.01),there were significant differences in the incidence of complications,time in ICU,hospitalization time,incidence of multi-organ failure between the two groups(P0.01).Conclusion Ulinastatin can suppress the secretion and release of part inflammatory factors,protect the important viscera functions and reduce the incidence of complications,and it has favorable clinical effect.
