Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relationship between the expressions of estrogen and progesterone receptor in breast cancer and provide a basis for prognosis and treatment. Methods:All 60 patients with breast cancers received neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The ER and PR expressions of tumors were determined before and after chemotherapy by immuno-histochemistry.Results:After neo-adjuvant chemotherapy the tumor size shrank in 36 patients, there were 16 CR,7 SD,1 PD and 4 pCR to be documented. The clinical efficacy was 86.67%.In the expression of ER-negative group, effect of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy were prior to that in the expression of ER-positive group, there was a statistically significant difference(P0.05).The expression of ER-positive rate of pre-chemotherapy were 50.00%(28/56) and 64.29%(36/ 56) post-chemotherapy,there was a statistically difference(P0.05).Conclusion:In the expression of ER-negative group, effect of neo-adjuvant chemotherapy group were prior to that in the expression of ER-positive group. The neoadjuvant chemotherapy can make part of changes in the expression of the ER in breast cancer tissue. It can also provides a basis for the treatment of breast cancer.
