Abstract
Objective To investigate the intestinal parasitic infection in the North Shanxi province. Method Faeces were examined for the eggs of the intestinal parasites, and the pinworm ovum was examined by anus scaped. Results 11 species of intestinal parasites were found. 275 out of 3055 individuals were infected, with a rate of 9%. Among the infected individuals, 2.2%were infected with roundworm, 25.9%with pinworm, while no one was infected with hookworm (0%). Conclusion More efforts must be paid to control the intestinal parasitic infection in North Shanxi.
