Abstract

Objective To explore the status of HBV infection in college freshmen, and to provide scientific basis for the prevention and treatment of hepatitis B.Method The freshmen from 2006 to 2008 of Huaihai Institute of Technology were chosen to be examined by means of detecting five seromarkers of HBV by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and the data were compared and analyzed. Results 7 105 freshmen were examined within 3 years,of which 359 freshmen were HBsAg-positive patients, and the HBsAg-positive rate was 5.05%;the HBsAg positive rates of male students and female students were 5.49% and 4.39% respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.01);the HBsAg-positive rates of urban students and rural students were 4.04% and 5.61% respectively, and the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).After the detection of five seromarkers of HBV,the patients with HBsAg+HBeAg+HBcAb and with HBsAg+HBeAb+HBcAb account for 39.55% and 44.29% respectively of the total number of the HBsAg-positive.Conclusion The HBsAg-positive rate of freshmen at our university was lower than the national average. It was higher in male students than in female students and it was higher in rural students than in urban students;patients with HBsAg+HBeAg+HBcAb+ and with HBsAg+HBeAb+HBcAb were more common in the detection of five seromarkers of HBV.It is highly necessary for college freshmen to do hepatitis B inspection of two pairs of semi, and those not infected with HBV should be inoculated with HB vaccine.
