Abstract

Objective To explore the imaging and pathology features of solitary fibrous tumor(SFT).Materials and Methods The clinical data and imaging findings of 2 patients with SFT proved by operation and pathology were retrospectively analyzed. Results The lobulated tumors were located in left parietal lobe and cerebellum. The two tumors showed iso-density on plain CT images. The tumor located at left parietal lobe showed iso-intensity on T1WI,hyper-intensity on T2WI and large areas of edema,The tumor located at cerebellum showed iso-intensity on T1WI,hypo-intensity on T2WI and vascular flow void signal. The two tumors showed obviously enhanced on contrast CT and MR.Under the microscope, the tumor cells were spindle, bundle or a Wavy distribution, mixed with abundant collagen fibers.Positive immunohistochemistry staining showed Vimentin(+),CD34(-)or(+).Conclusion cerebral SFT has some characteristics on MRI,yet final diagnosis should be based on histopathology and immunohistochemistry examinations.
