Abstract
[Objective] The aim was to study the effects of Ca2+ on cucumber seeds germination under NaCl stress so as to provide theoretical basis for the development and application of salt lick.[Method]The indoor water culture method was adopted to study the effects of different concentration CaCl2 and Ca(NO3)2 on seeds germination of cucumber under 100 mmol/L NaCl stress.[Result]When the Ca2+ concentration was 10 mmol/L,the seed germination indicators of cucumber were all significantly increased. And the mitigation of CaCl2 was better than Ca(NO3)2.When Ca2+ concentration was more than 20 mmol/L,along with the increase of Ca2+ concentration, the seed germination vigor index, root length and root fresh weight of cucumber were obviously declined. The result stated that low concentration of the calcium treatment had some mitigative effects on NaCl stress, but high concentration of exogenous Ca2+ had inhibition effects on the germination of cucumber.[Conclusion] The mitigation effect of different concentration and varieties of exogenous Ca2+had different mitigation effects on the germination of cucumber on Nacl stress.Low concentration of the calcium treatment had some mitigative effects on NaCl stress, but high concentration of exogenous Ca2+ had inhibition effects on the germination of cucumber.
