Abstract

The effects of different concentrations of NaCl on seed germination rate, vigor index, stem height, root length and root fresh weight of two kinds of cucumber varieties were studied. The result showed that NaCl had obvious inhibition effects on the germination of cucumber seed. With the increasing of the concentration of NaCl stress, the inhibition effects of NaCl on the germination of cucumber seed were also strengthened.Under NaCl stress, the effects of different concentrations of exogenous Ca2+ on NaCl stress were different. Low concentration of exogenous Ca2+ had some alleviatory effects on NaCl stress and the seed germination rate, vigor index, stem height, root length and root fresh weight of cucumber were all increased.High concentration of exogenous Ca2+ had inhibition effects on the germination of cucumber.
