Abstract
The sediment and its influence on water environment cause a series of problems and difficulties in the water environmental quality assessment for sediment-laden water of the Yellow River. In view of the influence of the sediment on water quality assessment, the basic theory of water environmental quality assessment for sediment-laden water of the Yellow River is put forward to completely reflect the pollution situation and validly distinguish between the natural pollution caused by the sediment and the artificial pollution produced by the discharge. An example of application to evaluate the water environmental quality of the Menghua section of the Yellow River is given.
