Abstract

The Menghua Reach of the Yellow River belongs to the typical sediment-laden river section and is the important source for the water supply of Zhengzhou and Xinxiang City. In accordance with the outstanding influence of the sediment on water quality,the water environmental quality assessment for the Menghua section of the Yellow River is carried out to completely reflect the pollution situation and validly distinguish between the natural pollution caused by the sediment and the artificial pollution produced from the discharge,by using the basic method of water environmental quality assessment for sediment-laden water of the Yellow River.
