Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the relationship between the expression of BCL 2 gene and the clinical significance.Method:The expression of BCL 2 gene was investigated in 40 leukemia patients by semi quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR). Result:The BCL 2 gene expression level was no correlation with the age, sex, lymphadenopathy, hepatomegaly, splenomegaly, bleeding, lactic dehydrogenase, subtype of leukemia and newly diagnosed group or relapsed refractory lekemia group. But it was positively associated with leukemic blastic cells. In addition to 7 acute promyelocytic leukemia patients, the complete remission (CR) rate in high BCL 2 expression group were lower than that in low BCL 2 expression group. Conclusion:The overexpression of BCL 2 gene is important to drug resistance , unfavourable prognosis and selection of chemotherapeutic regimen in leukemia
