Application Value of the Anti-Sperm Antibody Test in Male Infertility

Abstract

Objective To evaluate application value of the anti-sperm antibodies in the treatment of male infertility test application. Methods 390 cases of infertile patients in our hospital from January 2012 to August 2013 were as research object. Their sperm concentration, sperm motility percentage sperm motility, the number of leukocytes in semen, semen volume and semen liquefaction time were analyzed, and serum anti-sperm antibodies(Asab) were detected with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results Among the 390 patients, 302 cases are with sperm density of 20 million/mL, including 52 cases(accounting for 17.2%) with positive anti-sperm antibodies; 88 cases are with sperm density less than 20 million/mL, including 61 cases(accounting for 69.3%) with positive anti-sperm antibodies. The difference is statistically significant(P 0.05). The higher the density of sperm is, the lower the serum anti-sperm antibody positive rate is(P 0.05). Serum anti-sperm antibody positive rate of patients with dead sperm and azoospermia is as high as 75.6% and 70%. As sperm motility is poorer, serum anti-sperm antibody detection rate is higher(P 0.05); as more white blood cell in semen, the rate of anti-sperm antibodies is higher(P 0.05). Conclusions Anti-sperm antibody test is effective in the diagnosis of male infertility, and it is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
