Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical implication of MMP 9, CD44v6 protein expression in gallbladder carcinoma (GBC).Methods The immunohistochemical Envision technique was adopted for detecting the MMP 9, CD44v6 protein expression in 46 cases of GBC and 12 cases of chronic cholecystitis. Results The positive rate of MMP 9 and CD44v6 expression in gallbladder carcinoma was 78.26% and 71.74% respectively. The positive expression of MMP 9 and CD44v6 was correlated with the pathologic differentiation, clinic staging, lymph node metastasis and postoperation survival rate. Conclusion Expression of MMP 9 and CD44v6 might be served as an objective indicator for lymph node metastatic potency, tumor progress and prognosis in gallbladder carcinoma.
