Abstract

AIM: To observe the efficacy of clarithromycin, omeprazole, amoxillin in triple treatment of Helicobaotor pylori ( Hp ) infection in children. METHODS: Fifty seven children with abdominal pain and Hp infection identified by 13 C-UBT and Hp -IgG were given one week therapy of clarithromycin 250 mg, po , bid, omeprazole 20 mg, po , qd, amoxillin 250 mg, po , tid. The patients were examined by C-UBT in 4 wk after stopping giving drugs. RESULTS: It showed that recurrent abdominal pain(RAP) disappeared in 23 of 57 patients with Hp infection, improved in 32 patients, 2 have no efficacy, and the total efficiency was 96%; Hp became negative in 50 patients after therapy and the Hp eradication rate is 88%. CONCLUSION: The treatment of Hp infection in children using clarithromycin, omeprazole, amoxillin is very effective and the side effect is moderate.
