Abstract

Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of omeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole in Helicobacter Pylori (HP) infection in children. Methods 30 patients with chronic gastroduodenitis and gastroduodenal ulcer with HP infection were treated with omeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole for 10 days.Gastroscopy and 13C-urea breath test(13C-UBT) were performed on these patients prior to the medication and over one month after the therapy. Results The HP eradication rate was 93.3% .The frequency of side effects was 36.7% ,but none of them led to discontinuation of the medication. Conclusions The triple therapy with omeprazole, clarithromycin and metronidazole is effective in eradicating HP infection in children and is worthy of clinical application.
