Abstract
Rhetoric is requisite either in English or Chinese composition.Since translation involves the Chinese composition based on the meaning of the original source,naturally,it is indispensable of the rhetorical devices.However,the two languages differ from each other in rhetoric,there must be some techniques to turn to in the translation process.The present paper aims at pointing out the necessity of understanding those differences between the two languages at the discoursal level in translation and putting forth some approaches to the question.
