Abstract

Objective To investigate effects of fibrin sealant(FS) on the hemostatic and repair in the partial thickness skin donor wounds in the burned patients. Methods A total of 90 wounds in 30 patients were enrolled in this study, spraying of FS,thrombin, and natural hemostasis was used respectively. The self-corresponding wounds with same depth in all patients were used as controls.During postoperation, the hemostatic time and the healing time of the partial thickness skin donor wounds were noted. Results The result showed that the hemostatic time of FS group was significantly shorter than the natural hemostasis 36 seconds(P0.01)and the thrombin group 13 seconds(P0.01)respectively.Out of all partial thickness skin donor wounds, the healing time of partial thickness skin donor wounds treated with FS(12.1±2.32) days was significantly shorter than the natural hemostasis(19.8±3.86) days and the thrombin(19.2±3.65) days(P0.01)respectively.Conclusion FS was an effective hemostatic and healing acceleration agent on the partial thickness skin donor wounds in burn patients.
