Abstract

The Nd promoted SO~(2-)_4/ZrO_2-TiO_2 solid superacid as a catalyst was prepared by aging at a low temperature.The samples were used to catalytic esterification of n-butyl acetate.The optimum conditions were as follows: reaction time: 2.5 h;mole ratio of alcohol and acid: 1.2∶1; catalyst ratio to reactants: 1.4 %.The yield of ester could reach 98.29 % at the first use and still remain more than 80 % after 5 runs.
