Abstract

Objective:To observe the pathological changes in haematopoietic organs and the number of peripheral blood cells in benzene-induced aplastic anemia (AA) model mice. Methods:40 clean-class Balb/c mice were randomly divided into normal control group and AA model group. The normal control group was injected with corn oil for 4 ml/kg,and AA model group was injected with the oil mixture of benzene for 1 ml/kg of body weight, testing samples were drawn after 14 days. Results:Compared with normal control group, mice's bone marrow nucleated cells and the number of peripheral blood cells of AA model group were significantly reduced. There were apparent pathological changes in bone marrow. Hematopoietic cells in bone marrow tissue were shown decreased by pathological observation, and non-hematopoietic cells increased. Conclusion:It is confirmed that benzene can cause bone marrow damage, and the number of peripheral blood cells is significantly reduced.
