Abstract
Objective To examine the feasibility of natural cycle in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET) in poor responders.Methods The results of in-vitro fertilization in natural cycles from November 2003 to July 2007 in 20 poor responders at the Reproductive Medicine Center of Drum Tower Hospital were analysed.Results Twenty poor responders underwent IVF treatment with 41 unstimulated cycles.Oocyte retrievals were cancelled in 11 out of 41 cycles(26.8%).The total number of successful oocyte retrievals was 27 out of 30 procedures(90.0%).Embryo transfer was performed in 19 patients.The percentage of embryo transfers per started cycle and per attempted oocyte retrieval was 46.3% and 63.3% respectively.A total of six clinical pregnancies were obtained(31.6% per transfer),of which five has delivered(26.3% per transfer) and one aborted.Conclusion Natural-cycle IVF treatment is an easy and effective method for poor responder patients.
