Abstract

Polyunsaturated fatty acids(PUFA),containing docosahexaenoicacid(DHA)33% and eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA)10%,prepared from Navodonseptentrionalis(Gunther)liver oil with solvent crystallization, were used for an-tithrombotic studies. After fed with PUFA 5 or 10ml/kg for 7 days, thrombusweight and ADP-induced platelets aggregation reduced in rats, bleeding timewere prolonged in mice.In healthy volunteers,PUFA led the reduction of ADPor adrenaline-induced platelets aggregation and platelet adherence, and prolongof bleeding time.Three grams daily of PUFA was recommended as clinical dose.
