Abstract
Banana black spot (caused by Macrophoma musae) is an important disease in bananas. Toxicity to Macrophoma musaeof 13 fungicides and 3 fungicide combinations was determined in the laboratory. Macrophoma musae was highly sensitive to 70%thiophanate methyl, 70% mancozeb, 10% difenoconazole, and 72% Yijunte. Thiram myclobutanil plus kresoxim at volume ratios of4:1, 3:2, or 2:3 or thiram myclobutanil plus Yijunte at 3:2, 2:3, or 1:4 provided best control, with inhibition rates of 100%. Thesetreatments can be used for effective control of banana black spot in the field.
