Current status of mycoplasma infections of genitourinary tract and drug susceptibility

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To investigate the infection status and drug susceptibility of mycoplasma from genitourinary tract in my hospital. METHODS The mycoplasma cultivation,identification and susceptibility testing were performed by using Mycoplasma IST2 kit. RESULTS The total positive detection rate of mycoplasma was 42.1%(199/473).The positive detection rates of Ureaplasma urealyicum(Uu),Mycoplasma hominis(Mh) and combination infection of Uu and Mh were 74.4%,5.0% and 20.5%,respectively.The sensitivity rate to doxycycline,minocycline,josamycin,clarithromycin and spectinomycin of Uu were more than 70.0%.The sensitivity rates of quinolones antibiotics decreased generally and were all below 30.0%. CONCLUSION Various species of mycoplasma varies different drug resistance,the clinicians should apply the antibiotics according to the susceptibility testing results.
