Abstract
In the medium of sulfuric acid, cerium(Ⅳ) works with Chlorophosphonazo-mA to produce color-fading reaction. The apparent molar absorptivity of the determination of cerium is e532nm=1.92×104 L·mol-1·cm-1.Beer's law is obeyed over the concentration range of 0.6~4.0 μg·mL-1 for cerium. The influence of twenty-one diverse ions on the determination of cerium(Ⅳ) was examined. The method has been satisfactorily applied to the determination of cerium in molecular sieves.
