Abstract

Objective To study the relationship between expression of melanoma antigen-3(MAGE-3) and metastasis, prognosis in patients with lung cancer. Methods The expression of MAGE-3 in 74 non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) tissues and 15 adjacent non-cancerous lung tissues was detected by immunohistochemistry LSAB method. Results The expression of MAGE-3 in lung cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent non-cancerous lung tissues(P0.05).The expression of MAGE-3 in adenocarcinoma was significanty higher than of that in squamous cell carcinomas(P005).The metastasis, prognosis rates(DFS) in patients with lung cancer and MAGE-3 expression was higher than that in not MAGE-3 expression group(P0.05).The difference of metastasis, prognosis rates in adenocarcinoma group with different expression of MAGE-3 was significantly. Conclusion Detection of the MAGE-3 expression in lung cancer was helpful in predicting prognosis of lung cancer and guiding the multimodality therapy for lung cancer.
