Eeffect Analysis on AIDS Knowledge and Behavior Intervened among Sex Workers in Gaolan County of Gansu Province

Abstract

Objective:To identify the level of AIDS knowledge and behavior of CSWs(commercial sex workers)in GaoLan County from 2007 to 2009,and to provide evidence for further intervention. Methods:CSWs were investigated in the public places of entertainment with a structured questionnaire.Results:The awareness rate of AIDS knowledge of CSWs was increased from 12.67 %(January,2008) to 79.69%(December,2009).The percentage of using condom when CSWs had commercial sex or had sex with fixed partners in the last month was significantly increased after health education,but the percentage of using condom with fixed partners was lower.Among the Unregistered prostitute,willingness rate of education was increased in the past three years.Conclusion:After intervention,the AIDS awareness has significantly improved among CSWs.Thus,the implementation intervention measures should be guaranteed.
