Analysis on knowledge,attitude and behaviors of AIDS among CSWs in Qiaocheng County

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of health education of AIDS prevention as an intervention measure on CSWs from 2006 to 2008.Methods The knowledge and behaviour of AIDS among CSWs were investigated with a structured questionnaire.Results The awareness rates of AIDS knowledge of CSWs was enhanced.In 2008,CSWs were more willing to contact patients with AIDS.The percentage of using condemn when they had commercial sex in the last three months was significantly higher after health education(χ2=14.330,P0.001),and the percentage of using condemn with fixed partners raised both in the last month and last three months.Conclusion After comprehensive intervention,the AIDS awareness rate and condom use rate were significantly enhanced in CSWs.The interventions and 100% condom use project should therefore be carried on.
