Abstract
Objective To understand change of the HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitude and risk behavior in CSWs in Anhui Province. Methods CSWs were investigated face-to-face with the same questionnaires, including their basic knowledge, attitude and behavior for HIV/AIDS,and the survey was followed up with quality control in the two cities in 2000 and 2001.Results A total of 411 and 385 CSWs were interviewed in 2000 and 2001.The level of knowledge had significantly increased, the attitude and belief with condom use were more significantly changed in 2001 than in 2000,and condom use was not significantly changed in their sex activities with nonregular partners and their last three sex activities with regular or non-regular partners, but the condom use rate in their last sex activities with regular partners increased from 41.1% in 2000 to 49.6% in 2001.Conclusions These data showed that condom use was lower in CSWs,and health education and behavior intervention should be prompted.
